Les lycéens de Faÿs au Lycée Louis le Grand pour les débats européens Parallel Histories !
Thursday May the 19th, at 7:15 AM, departure from Lyon Perrache to Paris Gare de Lyon. When we arrived, we had a nice walk-through Paris, visiting the “quartier latin” where we saw the Sorbonne University and the Panthéon. Then, we ate at the Jardin du Luxembourg next to the Senate, and joined our European neighbours to debate at the Lycée Louis le Grand, one of the most prestigious schools of France.
We were quite impressed by the place and the perspective of meeting with foreign students from England, Belgium or Germany. However, when the time to debate arrived, we were actually excited. The debates went great as everyone had prepared hard were ready to defend their standpoint. After the debates, there had a conference and two of our students (Rachel and Thomas) went on stage to give a speech. Seeing our mates like that was moving and made us very proud. Debating with other European students was an enriching experience as since we listen to different perspectives and had to understand different accents too!
After a night at the hotel, came the second day. We visited various places around Paris, such as the Trocadéro, the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysées, the Musée du Louvre, the Palais de l’Elysée…. At the end of the day, we came back to Lyon, a bit sad to leave the capital city but with the feeling we lived a unique experience.
We came out of this experience a lot closer, with lots of nice memories as well as plenty of knowledge and wisdom, making this trip unforgettable.
Finally, we would like to thanks our awesome teachers, Mr Cohen, Mrs Laudarin and Mrs Marsal who made this experience possible!!!
